PRODUCT DESIGN OPTIONS Air Cooled Chillers Air-cooled chillers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to the ambient air. These systems are ideal for processes where facility water is unavailable or costly. Standard design parameters require adequate ventilation and an ambient air temperature between 5-35 C. High ambient models are also available. Water Cooled Chillers Water-cooled chillers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to an auxiliary facility water supply such as a central chilled water system or cooling tower. The facility water source does not need to be temperature controlled, however water sources exceeding 35C may require special design features. (See facility water requirement graphs.) Non-Refrigerated Heat Exchangers Non-refrigerated heat exchangers are designed to remove heat from a process and discharge it to an auxiliary facility water supply such as a central chilled water system or cooling tower. The facility water source must be at least 10C below the process water temperature to provide a temperature differential (typically 10C). Models offering smaller temperature differentials are available upon request. These systems are easy to install and feature a small footprint, modular design and quiet operation. They require no refrigeration and are available with capacities of up to 150kW. Specialty Fluids Chillers Due to extreme temperatures, dielectric fluid requirements, or algae issues, many applications are best suited for heat transfer other than plain water.
